Meet Me At The Pumpkin Patch
This year I had a a goal to go all-out with decorating my porch ‘fall-style’ with pumpkins, pretty flowers and an autumnal wreath. This meant my first ever visit to a pumpkin patch to collect an assortment of pumpkins for the porch. So, it being autumn and the UK, I decided a long sleeved top, jeans and wellies were a must for what was sure to be a very wet and cold day out. I pulled out my ‘Meet Me At The Pumpkin Patch’ long sleeved tee (obviously), grabbed the dog and Adam, and off we went to Undley Farm near Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk.
We arrived in scorching 25 degree (celcius) heat and with not a cloud in sight. Walking in my wellies and long sleeved top past others in their sandals and shorts, we grabbed a wheelbarrow and the excitement began. I never knew there were so many different colours, shapes and sizes! We loaded our wheelbarrow with a variety of pumpkins, including a couple gigantic sized ones that I couldn’t resist and some extra pumpkins to invite my parents over for pumpkin soup. It wasn’t long before we discovered that Roxy rather enjoyed the taste of pumpkins, which was a problem when we were surrounded by thousands of them; she very much enjoyed her trip out.
Just a few days after this, disaster struck. I came down with an ear infection that hurt so much that I couldn’t eat, sleep or even talk for almost a week, so sadly the pumpkin soup was cancelled and I was unable to buy flowers or a wreath (or evidently weed the porch). I did, however, manage to display the pumpkins on our porch and put on a brave face for a picture!
